Position Summary
Black River Contracting is hiring a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair fleet equipment including excavators, loaders, dozers, trucks, and support machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic, diesel, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Perform preventative maintenance on heavy equipment and fleet vehicles
- Troubleshoot field breakdowns and respond to jobsite service calls
- Maintain maintenance logs and service records
- Order and manage parts inventory
- Support uptime and fleet reliability
Qualifications
- 3+ years diesel/heavy equipment repair experience
- Strong understanding of hydraulics and electrical diagnostics
- Ability to read service manuals and wiring diagrams
- Welding and fabrication skills preferred
- CDL preferred
Work Environment
- Shop-based with field service calls
- Year-round position
- Overtime during peak construction season
